Reservations Information

For additional information or if you have any questions regarding your reservation, please reach out to the reservations department at 530-542-5600.

  • To apply to be a guest at Stanford Sierra Camp’s summer program you must be an Alumni of Stanford University and a member of the Stanford Alumni Association.

Applications open in November and close the first week of January each year. Consecutive years of application are required to remain active on the waitlist. The application can be found online at: https://sierracamp.alumni.stanford.edu/summer-family-camp/reservations

If you’re already on the waitlist, the reservations team will email a renewal application form in mid-November, but you can also apply at the link above.

  • To be considered a Stanford Alumni you must have completed at least 4 quarters in a degree granting program. Learn more here: https://alumni.stanford.edu/membership/

Contact the SAA Membership department by phone at (650) 725-0692 or by email: membership@alumni.stanford.edu

  • Cash and check are the only accepted methods for payment; we do not take credit cards. Any incidental purchases at Camp can be put on your room account for final payment at the end of your stay. Please remember to bring your checkbook to Camp with you! All checks should be made out to SAA-Sierra Programs.

Payment in full is due by March 1st, 2023, for weeks 2–7, and March 15, 2023, for weeks 8–13. Reservations will be cancelled if full payment is not received by the due date. Payments are refundable only if written notification is received at least 30 days prior to the guest’s scheduled arrival; cancellations are subject to a $500 cancellation fee.

  • If you’re offered a “fill-in” spot, this means that you are granted a ONE TIME placement to attend Camp for the summer due to a returning camper taking a “stop out” for the year. Accepting a “fill-in” spot at Camp does not help or hinder your place on the waitlist but offers you an opportunity to enjoy Camp programing for the summer! Since a “fill-in” is not a permanent spot at Camp you must continue to apply on the waitlist each year until you receive a returning accommodation in one of our weeks.

  • Early check-out is available for guests who sign-up by noon on Friday. You must sign up in our sign-up binder located on the table outside of our front office. Bill-settling can be done between 3 and 6 pm on Friday afternoon. Any purchases after this time must be made by cash or check. All other campers can check-out Saturday morning between 8 and 10 am.

  • Yes, although there is a maximum number of guests you are allowed, in addition to your standard cabin rate of people. You are welcome to have a maximum of 4 people in a lodge room, 6 in a two-bedroom cabin, and 8 in a three-bedroom cabin. When occupancy exceeds the standard cabin rate (2 for lodge room, 4 for a two-bedroom cabin, 5 for a three-bedroom), extra-person charges are calculated based on the ages and length of stay of your additional guests.

Guests staying for 3 or less nights are charged an over-night fee, and guests staying for 4 or more nights are charged the full weekly price. We do not allow substitution of guests - meaning you cannot switch out people mid-week for a single-guests weekly rate.

  • Yes, we allow day guests to visit our facility and join campers for meals. Out of consideration for your fellow Campers, drop-in guests may not use camp equipment or participate in camp programs.

Please tell the office staff prior to your guests’ arrival, so your guests can be included in the day’s meal head-count. Your guests must stop by the office upon arrival to sign a waiver form. You can add the charges for drop-in meal guests to your bill or pay at the office by cash or check.

  • For 2022, payments are refundable through SSC, minus a $500 cancellation fee, ONLY if you cancel AT LEAST 30 DAYS prior to arrival. If you cancel less than 30 days before your week starts, any payments made to date to SSC are NON-REFUNDABLE.

SSC will not be able to offer full or pro-rated refunds for missed days as a result of a positive COVID-19 case. If you or any of your guests – in the same household - test positive for coronavirus within 14 days prior to arrival, we ask that your entire group from that household NOT attend. If you or any of your guests test positive upon arrival at camp or during your week at camp, we will ask that everyone in your group leave the property.

Our cancellation policy is subject to change.

With this uncertainty, you may want to consider subscribing to a travel protection program that may cover potential losses in the event you are unable to attend SSC. There are a number of insurance companies that offer travel protection. Please note: many travel insurance companies require that you purchase certain plans within 10-21 days after the initial payment for your travel was made. One company offering such travel protection for summer 2022 is Travel Insured Int., with a Worldwide Trip Protector plan. If you’d like more information about this plan, feel free to call them directly at 1-844-228-3331.
