Michael Brockman
Hometown: Bartlesville, OK
Major: Deciding between Computer Science & Symbolic Systems!
Three things I love to do: Use the nearly out-of-service dorm kitchenette's to make breakfast, surf or run or swim superrrr early in the morning, & get excited talking with friends about projects we could work on to make our lives 10x better.
I could talk all day about... Why there needs to be more transparent technology; human-friendly design; Colombia & Latin America's role in Venture Capital; why Kanye is the ultimate underdog story; Dave Chapelle's hiatus; freakonomics; how trendy, high-stress management styles are wrong; and the greatest American athlete Steve Prefontaine!
I would love to connect with folks who work in fields related to or share an interest in... Entrepreneurship & starting a movement!!! Folks who work on ~disgustingly~ difficult computer science problems. Literally all types of design: industrial, branding, urban, ANYTHING. Behavioral economists. People who are trying to make our relationship with technology healthier (whether that's software engineers, psychologists, or designers).
More about Michael: Come along on a day with Michael! Michael wants to be your running buddy if you’re down to get up at 6AM for a running trail with the best views, blaring Billy Joel & Beatles. On the ride back home, he’ll play you Freakonomics or How I Built This and talk your ear off about the genius of Zillow! Otherwise, you’ll find him working on one of his projects to make the world a better place (currently interests include optimizing high school internships & making group payments easy and friendly). If he has a moment, he’ll be deciding between a Wes Anderson, Scorsese, or Tarantino movie or maybe a spontaneous adventure with his friends. As his day is coming to a close, on the forefront of his mind is how hype he is for camp this summer!!!!
