Valeria Paez Pulido

Hometown: Cuernavaca, Mexico and Miami, FL

Major: Product Design (+ Comparative Studies of Race and Ethnicity Minor)

Three things I love to do at Stanford outside of class: Watching A24 movies or rom-coms, arts and crafts, actionizing/organizing.

I could talk all day about: the importance of imagination, design thinking, boleros (music), environmental justice, decolonization and ethnic studies, queerness, creating as a wellness practice (art, crafts, story building), self-reflection

I would love to connect with guests who work in fields related to: Design, Tech, Product Management, User Research, Web Design, Filmmaking, Sustainability, Justice, Education

Biosketch: Valeria believes love truly is all around us, and she is driven to act on this love by centering justice and social good in all her endeavors. She is especially interested in environmental justice, decolonial practices, and integrating design thinking to re-imagine the world, especially in terms of sustainability. At Stanford, she is studying Product Design with a minor in Comparative Studies of Race and Ethnicity to synthesize the act of design/creation with the lens of justice. Valeria is returning this summer to work with the littlest of campers (Guppies) after working with Crawdads in the summer of 2022. She loves teaching children, but also learning from them as the imagination experts they are. Her dream is to make the world better for all the people who reside on it, and she's always trying to figure out new ways to realize this!
