Erica Olsen
Hometown: Las Vegas, NV
Major: B.S. BioEngineering, M.S. Biomedical Informatics
Three things I love to do: 1) Make daisy chains at Terman fountain 2) Sustain deep eye contact with strangers and let it linger just a little too long 3) improvisational dance in unexpected locations
I could talk all day about... Balancing selfishness and selflessness, biotech, being half-Korean (relevant books Crying in H-Mart, Minor Feelings), my little thumbs, my favorite Dollie dances
I would love to connect with folks who work in fields related to or share an interest in... Medicine, MedTech, BioTech, Biodesign (or design in general), any field where innovation is a cornerstone
More about Erica: Erica was born and raised in Las Vegas, so she can confidently say that what happens in Vegas does not necessarily stay in Vegas. She enjoys reminding anyone who will listen, that yes, she was a Stanford Dollie (shoutout #2s) and no, she has not lost her kick. Please challenge her to a “kick off” to see if she can prove this point. Erica feels fulfilled when volunteering for Stanford’s Dance for Parkinson’s program and brainstorming upstream health interventions. When she’s not at camp, she can be found developing her silversmithing side-hustle and planning a trip abroad- ask her about favorite moments from Iceland, Australia, New Zealand. Above all, Erica is so excited to connect with you and welcome you home! :)
