Ryan Loo

Hometown: Scottsdale, AZ

Major: Symbolic Systems & Political Science

Three things I love to do: Helping set up concerts with the Stanford Concert Network and attending concerts in the local area, stargazing and having deep, existential talks with friends, and taking spontaneous trips anywhere and everywhere!

I could talk all day about... random hypotheticals like how I would survive the immortal snail, neologisms, linguistics, and the existential awe I derive from reading Koenig's Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows, and any philosophical conversation about our existence or the universe

I would love to connect with folks who work in fields related to or share an interest in... Philosophy, Psychology, Journalism, Creative Writing, Entrepreneurship, Technology, Linguistics, and anything and everything in between!

More about Ryan: Everyone hurry! If you look closely, you might catch a glimpse of a wild Ryan Loo in his natural habitat. Native to the sweltering hot and barren deserts of Scottsdale, Arizona, Ryan is now enjoying his time as a freshman at Stanford –– though he may often be spotted enjoying concerts in San Francisco or helping to set some up with the Stanford Concert Network on campus! During the day, Ryan can often be found pondering absurd hypotheticals while eating Sour Patch Kids, writing poems or creative fiction short stories, taking photos of everything, or listening to all genres of music (but most likely indie-bedroom pop) on his speaker! At night, Ryan loves having deep philosophical conversations and debates, going on night hikes to stargaze to lofi music, or taking spontaneous trips with his friends! Ryan often doesn’t know where he’s going (he's directionally challenged but don't tell anyone), but he’s always down for wherever the adventure takes him. So, if you encounter Ryan during camp –– don’t hesitate to say hi! Ryan is so excited to meet everyone and can’t wait to see what adventures we can all get into together!
