Jack DebBaruah

Hometown: Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Major: Earth Systems and Public Policy

Three things I love to do at Stanford outside of class: Raising chickens and milking goats at Vida Verde Nature Education Farm, playing beach volleyball, giving tours around campus

I could talk all day about: The Midwest, Wisconsin sports (Go Pack Go), elections, working on Capitol Hill, my past hiking and mountain climbing adventures

I would love to connect with guests who work in fields related to: Sustainability, policy and governance, data science, entrepreneurship

Biosketch: Jack is a rising sophomore from Milwaukee, Wisconsin interested in pursuing a career in environmental policy or data analysis. His Midwestern roots run deep, having previously called both Ohio and Michigan home. Jack jokes that he spent more time outside than indoors as a child, making frequent trips with his Boy Scout Troop to the Boundary Waters and other state parks. Now an Eagle Scout, Jack is always looking for his next adventure, such as this past summer when he climbed Mount Kilimanjaro. Having previously worked for the United States Senate and his mayor's office in Milwaukee, he hopes to combine his interests in government and outdoor education to help make the outdoors more accessible to all people. Jack is so stoked for this summer and can't wait to welcome you to camp!
