Dora McCotter-Hulett

Hometown: Seattle

Major: Earth Systems (HES)

Three things I love to do at Stanford outside of class: play Ultimate Frisbee on Superfly, go on late night walks around Lake Lag as a procrastination mechanism, teach English to RD&E workers through the Habla program

I could talk all day about: ultimate frisbee, community creation, The Mountain School, how to bake the perfect chocolate chip cookies, my time living in Sevilla, how intertwined human and environment fate are, kombucha

I would love to connect with guests who work in fields related to: environmental economics, non-profit (community/environmental)

Biosketch: Dora's life has been all over the place between Seattle, Sevilla and The Mountain School but the common thread through it all has been her love of laughter and dark chocolate. She loves singing in the car, summiting Colorado's 14ers, asking questions, collecting fleeces and starting baking projects when she should definitely be sleeping. At Stanford she is studying Earth Systems on the Human Environmental Systems track and considering a second major in Economics as she is interested in applying environmental economics to policy. Outside of class she is usually at Superfly (Ultimate Frisbee) practice or watching the sun set on the farm. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest and spending summers in Colorado has steeped a love of the outdoors into her that led her bushwhacking through the Denali backcountry this past summer, and most recently, here, Sierra Camp. She is so incredibly excited to be here!
