Rachel Lit

Hometown: Stanford, CA

Major: Human Biology (+ earth systems minor!)

Three things I love to do at Stanford outside of class: read a good book with a cup of Philz coffee, hike the Los Trancos trail at Foothill Park, & run around with the women's ultimate frisbee team

I could talk all day about: Travel, hiking/backpacking, board/card games, Crying in HMart (& other biographies), disability justice, social determinants of health, climate change, growing up as an RF kid

I would love to connect with guests who work in fields related to: Public health, epidemiology, climate science, food systems & nutrition, conservation, sustainability

Biosketch: Rachel is beyond thrilled to be spending her first summer at camp! Outside of lectures on infectious disease emergence and the impacts of climate change on human health, she spends her time renting adventure gear to students at the Outdoor Center, cooking weekly dinners at Columbae, and playing on Stanford's women's ultimate frisbee team. Rachel loves baking, reading, running, Winnie the Pooh, and anything related to nature/being outdoors. She is also a huge foodie which can mainly be attributed to her mixed Korean & Jewish heritage. Growing up with two public elementary school teachers as parents has instilled an innate love for children and teaching in Rachel, and she absolutely cannot wait to spend the summer alongside young campers & their families at Fallen Leaf Lake!!!
